To end its eighth season on a high note, Le Petit Salon de Musique is featuring The Ghost Trio on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. This wonderful chamber music group, composed of some of the region’s most accomplished young artists, will perform Schubert’s brilliant B flat Sonata, completed during the last months of the composer’s life. They’ll also bring to Le Petit Salon’s intimate space Beethoven’s D Major Piano Trio, known as “The Ghost Trio” for the eerie sound of its slow movement. It is from this piece that the performers have taken their stage name.
Pianist Erika Dohi is a multi-faceted artist with an eclectic musical background that ranges from classical to jazz, free improvisation, and contemporary music. She is a dynamic performer with unique technique. Erika has performed at music festivals all over the world and is currently working on a doctorate in music at Stony Brook University. Cellist So Sugiyama is also working towards a doctorate in music at Stony Brook University, and has performed in masterclasses for many of the world’s most renowned cello teachers as well as at music festivals around the world. Violinist Brian Bak received his Master of Music degree at The Juilliard School, where he won numerous prestigious scholarships. He has performed as a soloist in both North and South America, Europe, and Asia. Mr. Bak is the featured violin soloist for world renowned composer Eric Genuis' US tour.
The trio is honored to present two of the world’s greatest musical compositions to complete Le Petit Salon de Musique’s most successful season yet.
